LEGO 71026 DC Minifigures

Brickland Lego 71026 DC Minifigures

For a while now, there have been rumors for the next LEGO minifigure series. A few days ago, some photos were leaked on a Japanese site showing the box and bag images. There is a group photo as well of all the 16 minifigures in the new DC Series, but no individual shots yet. Since these aren’t officially released LEGO images, I don’t want to share them yet. When they do release more info I’ll update this post with them.

These are the new 16 LEGO DC Minifigures. These are superheroes and villains. I’ve got a list of the names below. Some of them are more popular characters, while others I had to look up because I wasn’t as familiar with them as I could be.

In each case there are several of each of the 16 different Superhero & Villain DC Minifigures.

I originally learned about the release of this series from a Japanese website that I follow.

It appears that all of the characters have 1×2 jumper plates and a trans clear piece which can be put under their foot to allow for some posing in jumping or flying action shots.

I’ve learned more about the new trans clear Minifigure stand and written a separate post about that. At this time I don’t know which minifigures in this series come with this piece, but I’ll include that info as I get it.

New LEGO sets being released in May 2019

I’ve been slowly learning about new LEGO sets that will be released in May 2019. Some of the information here is official, and has come from the official LEGO Group, while others are leaks and come from unofficial, but mostly reliable sources.

The late spring and early summer months aren’t usually big release times for new LEGO sets. Usually we will see something a bit different being released, and this month is shaping up to be similar to previous years.

Stranger Things LEGO set

There has been some chatter on a few of the websites I follow about a LEGO Stranger Things set. Like most sets that come out this time of year, it will first be released to VIPs and then the general public in June.

LEGO Stranger Things
LEGO Stranger Things Set 85810

Supposedly it will have 2287 pieces and be set number 85810. Somewhere in the $250 price range. I don’ know how many minifigures it will contain. It is supposed to be a model of Joyce Byers home. I’d love to see a Winona Ryder Minifigure of course, too.

LEGO 75223 Naboo Starfighter Microfighter

LEGO 75223 Naboo Starfigher Microfighter 485

Can you believe this is part of the 6th series of microfighters?  Of course it is the first I’m building on this channel.  I love these sets for their swoosh-ability.  This starwars Microfighter comes with a Kid Anakin, a R2-D2 dome top and a couple of flick missles for some cool combat.

LEGO 75223 Naboo Starfighter™ Microfighter is a new 2019 set that was released in January of 2019.  It has 62  pieces and is labeled for ages 6 and up.

LEGO 75223 Pieces & Minifigures

There are 62 pieces in this set, including 1 minifigures.  You get Anakin Skywalker.  You also get an R2-D2 dome top, a wrench, and a printed control panel – no stickers.

In this set there are 2 bags, and one instruction book

LEGO 75223 Review

This was a pretty easy set to build – nothing too complicated, although I did put the printed control panel in backwards (and a cheese slope, too), but quickly realized my mistake and corrected it.

It comes with an Anakin Skywalker minifig, in the child form, with the old style short legs that don’t bend.  In fact all of the microfighters I’ve ever built have the short leg versions of the minifigures.

There is a tiny slot in the Microfighter for Anakin to stand in. Plus the set comes with a little wrench for him to work on his craft.

Lego 70841 Benny’s Space Squad

Four space minifigs for ten bucks?  Yes Please!  Especially when one is Benny from the LEGO Movie 2.  You know the one, the over-enthusiastic spaceman who just wants to build a Spaceship!  But in this set you get him, and 3 of his friends in alternatively colored suits.  Plus a little bit more.

Lego 70841 Benny’s Space Squad is a new 2019 set that was released in December of 2018.  It has 68 pieces and is labeled for ages 5 and up.

LEGO 70824 Pieces & Minifigures

There are 68  pieces in this set, including 4 minifigures.  Not only do you get the Blue space Man Benny, but also the Yellow Space Man Kenny, the Pink Spaceman Lenny, and the White spaceman (woman) Jenny.    Plus there are enough other pieces to make a little robot, a car, and a SPACESHIP!

In this set there are 2 numbered bags, and one instruction book

LEGO 70824 Review

I’d definitely categorize this as an Easy build.  There are only 2 small bags and no complicated pieces or connections.  What is so awesome is that you get 4 LEGO minifigures.  That’s a lot.  Normally you get 1 or 2 in a set this price, and never anyone as popular as Benny.  It would be like getting a Ninjago Set with Cole, Lloyd, Zane and Kai or a Friends Set with Stephanie, Mia, Andrea, Emma or Olivia.

Additionally, each Minifig comes with a handheld accessory – a scanner, laser gun, walkie-talkie or wrench.  Plus there is a  little brick built robot, a car and a mini spaceship with a printed tile!

The Robot is less than 10 pieces, and uses some pretty tiny elements. It’s not the most sturdy build but sometimes you sacrifice stability for play-ability.

The car, is based in the classic space theme. It uses the grey bricks, has little off-road tires, and has a couple of clips in the back to hold the tools. There is room for 1 minifigure as the driver. If I were to improve on the build of this car, I would have incorporated a little box in the back that opens up.

The spaceship is also based on the classic space theme with blue and grey elements. There’s room for 1 minifigure to fly it. What I like best is the printed slope tile with the classic LEGO space logo on it.

LEGO 70824 Release Date

This set was released on new Year’s day 2019. Initially I went to my local LEGO store to buy it, but by mid morning it had sold out. My Target stores didn’t have any on the shelves either. So I looked at Amazon, and they too were sold out! I decided to order it from Target with my RED card so I’d get the 5% discount. I got the sets on Jan 6th.
