Lego Home Alone?

Will LEGO be collaborating with Disney for a new Home Alone Set?

How cool would it be to see the McCallister House built with LEGO and full of traps and pitfalls for the robbers? The If you ask me it’s the perfect idea for a LEGO set. Tons of Playability.

While I was researching the new LEGO Disney Train and Station Set, I came across a blog post on HypeBeast that said:

“Disney’s CEO Bob Iger announced that the company will be rebooting Home Alone, Night at the Museum and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”

I don’t know about you, but I think it would be unusual for LEGO to get all 3 different up and running. Like I mentioned I do see a Home Alone set as a possibility, and perhaps the Diary of a Wimpy Kid as Duplo type set, but I have a hard time imagining the Night at the Museum LEGO set. LEGO has been busy with lots of Disney Sets lately, as well as creating other popular series and movies like the Simpsons, Ghostbusters, the Flintstones, and the Friends show from NBC.

It was also mentioned that Disney is bringing these back for their new Streaming Service Disney+ Because of the close ties between Disney and LEGO I wonder if any other LEGO shows (like Ninjago) will appear on that new platform, but that is the topic for a different blog post.

LEGO 71044 Disney Train and Station

Of course you had to know that I’d pick up this set and build it. I’m all about the LEGO + Disney. You’ve seen my LEGO Disneyland, right? You know that this website is a play on Disneyland (LEGO won’t let us use their trademarked name so everyone uses the word brick instead), right? Well, here it is. LEGO set 71044 Disney Train and Station. It’s got 2918 pieces, and 5 minifigures. With all that you can build a replica of the Lillybelle engine, and 3 cars, a model of the real Disneyland Train Station, and a loop of track. Plus it comes with the new power functions so you can just add a few AAA batteries and remote control it from your phone!

LEGO 21319 Friends Central Perk Coffee Shop

LEGO 21319 Friends Central Perk Box

It took over 2 years to go from Idea to completed set, but now we finally have the LEGO friends set from the TV show. This isn’t to be mixed up with the regular Friends Lego sets. But I have a feeling there are a lot of people searching for one thing and getting another.

Lego 21317 is the next Ideas set. Central Perk is a new 2019 set that is due to be released on September 1 2019. If it is like previous sets it will first gou out to VIP members for about 2 weeks, and then be available more widely at LEGO stores, and other retail outlets.

According to the official LEGO Press Release it will have 1079 pieces and is labeled for ages 16 and up. All these photos are officially released and come from the LEGO websites.

LEGO 21319 Minifigures

There are 7 minifigures in this set: Ross Geller, Rachel Green, Chandler Bing, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Phoebe Buffay and Gunther. I’ll have them for pre-sale shortly in my minifigure store.

LEGO 21319 Central Perk set price

My understanding is that the LEGO Central Perk Friends Set set price is going to be around $60. We all know that LEGO sets are expensive, and the themed ones are even more so. But this one is more affordable especially with 7 minifigures.
