Step into the lively world of Heartlake City with the LEGO® Friends Heartlake City Apartments and Stores (42670) set. Designed for kids and teens aged 12 and up, this detailed community model celebrates friendship and creativity. With vibrant apartments, fun-filled stores, and 9 characters, this buildable playset offers endless opportunities for storytelling, role-play, and display. I’m loving this colorful Friend Heartlake City Apartments and Stores LEGO Set.
Every year, LEGO releases new sets at the beginning of January. There is a lot of hype and secrecy surrounding these sets, but I’ve done the work and scoured the LEGO website to learn what is coming – and I want to share it with you. From exciting new City Space. sets to the popular Ninjago and Friends and of course Star Wars, LEGO has hit a home run with this years new 2024 releases!
So many story telling options. So many details. so many Accessories! LEGO 41740 Aliyas Room is Packed with so much stuff. This build is deceiving. While not difficult, there are a lot of details packed into this set. I know a lot of LEGO purists don’t always like the Friends sets, but for me, they have some amazing colors, and cool details. This set doesn’t disappoint!
Have you ever wanted to build your own LEGO Minifigures, but they don’t come out the way you want? I have some suggestions for you.
Maybe you want to make an army for your city. Perhaps you want your own SigFig that you can trade with your friends. The possibilities are limitless to make your own custom LEGO figure. Here’s how.
I’m ashamed to admit that I wanted to be a little bit like the eccentric, affable Doc Brown from Back to the Future. He was a bit crazy, but cool at the same time, with all his scientific gizmos and inventions. He had the coolest workshop of any mad scientist that I remember. This Emmet Brown Minifigure is from the Lego Dimensions pack, and has what I think to be the better hair of the two different minifigs.

The Maleficent Minidoll from LEGO appears in these sets:
41152 Sleeping Beauty’s Fairytale Castle (2018)
Background
Nobody knows how old Maleficient is. She has the power to transform herself into a Dragon. She has a pet raven, Diablo
Trivia
She is proclaimed “the mistress of all Evil”
Angelina Jolie is set to play Maleficent in an upcoming movie
This Maleficent isn’t a minifigure, but technically a Minidoll. She is based on the friends style of minifigures, with a smaller head stud, and a longer more slender body. To me, the minidolls are more accurate representations of Disney Preciseness and villains. Where minifigures are designed to resemble real people, the minimill is more fantasy. Whatever you like, check out this evil Queen. You won’t be disappointed

Of all the new Disney LEGO Frozen 2 sets being announced and eventually released, this one, Elsa’s Jewelry Box is my favorite. I don’t have Jewelry, but this set seems to have some great features and also has a lot of great parts that I see myself using in MOCS in my Disney LEGO City.
Tons of Trans Blue pieces, new blue gear parts, and even an ice horse minifig. Also purple bricks. Such a rare color!
When available, I will post the official LEGO set PHOTO here (then change it to my set photo when released).
LEGO 41168 Elsa’s Jewelry Box Release Date
The new series of LEGO Disney Frozen 2 sets are scheduled to be released on November 22, according to my sources. This should be right around the time the new movie is also released.
LEGO 41168 Elsa’s Jewelry Box Minifigures
It looks like there is only one minidoll in this set – an Elsa. But there is also a trans blue ice horse – much in the same style as the new Patronus figure from the Harry Potter sets.
Of course the minifigures for this set haven’t been released yet, but here are some others you might be interested in. Complete your minifigure collection!
The other day I was double checking my Disney Princess minifigures, and I realized I was missing one. I needed Belle to complete my collection! Not any princess would do. I needed the LEGO Belle Minidoll from the retired set 10762 Belle’s Story Time.
Since I couldn’t find it on the LEGO website anymore, I turned to Amazon, and was able to find a new unopened and sealed set. I clicked the order button and a few days later it was in my mailbox.
LEGO 10762 Belle’s Story Time Release Date
This LEGO Juniors set was released in 2018 and unfortunately is no longer “officially” available, but it is still easy to find on-line if you want a set. It is now Retired. That just means it is still is supported by LEGO (you can get instructions and missing pieces if needed), just not for sale new anymore.
The box for LEGO 10762 Belle’s Story Time. This is a Disney Junior’s set – so it is easier to build than regular sets. Geared for kids as young as 4 years old.
LEGO 10762 Belle’s Story Time Minifigure
There is only one minifigure in this set – Belle. She is actually a Minidoll, and not a minifigure. What’s the difference between a minidoll and a minifigure you ask? Well, let me tell you. Most people are familiar with a minifigure. Both minifigures and minidolls have 4 pieces – a head, a torso, feet, and hair. The main difference is that minidolls are less blocky, a tiny bit taller, and more slender. To me they look more like princesses.
I like to think of minifigures as regular people in my Disney LEGO city, and the minidolls are more like characters. It seems to make it more realistic for me when I do things this way.
Anyway, Belle has a yellow skirt, a yellow torso with some printing. Her arms have white gloves. Her head is one sided (all minidolls have only one face) and her hair is long and brown.
The set comes with two bags. The first bag builds the belle minifigure and the accessories, and the second bag builds her little castle and the spinning table.
The instruction book that comes with the set is clear, and easy to understand, even for a child as young as 4. There are some small parts, so I wouldn’t let younger kids play with the set for safety reasons.
If you need the instructions for this set, you can download a PDF right from the LEGO website to use on your iPad.
LEGO 10762 Belle’s Story Time Review
Like I mentioned earlier, I purchased this set only for the Belle LEGO character. However, as I was building it, I had an idea to use it in my LEGO Disneyland. I’ll share more about that in a moment.
This set has 87 pieces that come in a small box. There are NO stickers, only printed pieces which include Cogsworth’s face, The Beast in a mirror, A Disneyland Book and printed tile, and a very cool rose printed on a trans window piece that resembles a stained glass window. Plus there is a printed cup with a face, and teapot too. I prefer sets that don’t have any stickers, because once you place a sticker on a brick, it has to be used as a specific piece. I like to be able to use my bricks any way I want, especially as MOCs.
This set has a lot of little accessories that make it fun to play with – you get a little brick built cart with a cake, a fountain, a book that opens and can be held in a minifigure (or minidolls hand) a table that spins, and a castle.
The castle is not very big, but has lots of great angles for photos, and that’s what I like so much about it. If you have ever been to Disneyland, there are 2 different main ways to get your photo taken with a character. You can try to find them wandering around the park, which can be really difficult, or you can check their schedule and see when they will be making an appearance in their special area.
That’s what I think of this castle. Its Belle’s special area for photos. She can stand near the rose, or behind the fence, or on a special stand, and then you can stand next to her and get your photo taken. I plan on incorporating these little vignettes at the back of my LEGO Disneyland for minifigures to pose next to their favorite LEGO Disney Princess or character.

This is the Minifigure version of Ariel, from the firs Disney Series of blind bags. There are also some versions of Ariel that are Minidolls (and I actually prefer these), but this was the first one to come out.
Sets
Ariel from the LEGO Disney Series 1 appears in these sets:
71012 The LEGO Disney Series 1 CMF (Complete Series of 18 Complete Minifigure Sets) (2016)
Background
Ariel is the prettiest, and youngest daughter of the king of Atlantia, an undersea kingdom. She longs for the human world, and when she turns 16 she falls in love with Eric, a true human. To pursue her passion, she meets Ursula, who grants her wish, but at a serious price.
This Aladdin Minifigure is based on the 1992 movie with the same name. He has a very tough childhood, and at 16 joins the circus, and a few years later (at least in this story) he is being chased on the streets of a Middle East city when he runs into the princess and falls in love.
I like this minifigure, but I wish it came with a little pet monkey. Also, for some reason I prefer my fictional Disney prince and princess characters to be minidolls instead of the minifigure. That’s just my preference and what looks good in my Lego city.

71012 The LEGO Disney Series 1 CMF (Complete Series of 18 Complete Minifigure Sets) (2016)
Background
Aladdin, as a character comes from the Arabian Nights, or the ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ told by Scheherazade (who was a woman by the way). He has a typical rags to riches story. What I find interesting after reading the original story is that it is set in China, not the middle east.
Trivia
Aladdin is only 18 when we meet him in the movie.
He has a pet monkey named Abu
