Introducing the LEGO 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline with a Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) Minifigure. This is from the second Fast and Furious movie, and the LEGO GTR is a great addition to anyone’s collection.

The LEGO Speed Champions line has released a few different “Movie” cars over the years. This is actually the second model from the 2 Fast 2 Furious franchise. But it is the only Speed Champions Set announced in the January 2023 LEGO releases. I do expect more to come later in the year.

Normally LEGO releases the Speed Champions cars in March, but we are lucky this year to get one with the hundreds of other sets coming out on Jan 1 2023. Do you plan to add this street racer model to your collection? I don’t have this in my minifigure store yet, but should soon!

FYI, the other Fast and Furious LEGO set is Dom’s iconic car 1970 Dodge Charger R/T which came out in the summer of 2022. These are great car toy models if you like LEGO speed Champions.

For all-action role play, automotive enthusiasts can put a Brian O’Conner minifigure in the driver’s seat. This is the only Paul Walker LEGO Minifigure ever made.

How Big is the LEGO 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline?

This LEGO Nissan Skyline is 2 in. (5 cm) high, 6.5 in. (16 cm) long and 2.5 in. (7 cm) wide. It is just a bit bigger than the usual minifigure scale (although a minifig does sit nicely inside), but the same scale as all the previous Speed Champions sets.

This is a Right hand drive car. I don’t know of any other LEGO models except the Red LEGO Double Decker London Bus.

How Long Does it Take to Build the LEGO 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline?

With 319 pieces and a sticker sheet this set takes about 1 hour to build. Advanced builders can probably do it faster.

Where can you buy the LEGO 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline

Currently this set is only available at LEGO.com and in LEGO retail stores. I have learned that after a period of time Speed Champion Sets can be found on Amazon, Target Stores, Barnes & Noble bookstores, and more.

What are some of the details on the LEGO Speed Champions Nissan Skyline?

I’ve been a fan of these cars since they were first released in 2015. I got the Ferrari F14 & Scuderia Ferrari Truck, as well as a McLaren and the Porsche 918 Spyder.

I’ve also loved watching all TEN of these movies. I was very distraught when I learned of Paul Walker’s passing. This set is a perfect homage to him. And the minifigure looks very much like him. The Brian O’Conner Minifig has dual molded arms and a scruffy beard.

Of all the cars in the movies this LEGO Paul Walker GTR is my favorite.

This car has so many details – from the way the blue striping extends past the doors over the wheel arches and to the back of the car. There are THREE (3) NOS tanks on the passenger seat. New gauges inside the car show more information. Even the Seats are decorated!

Another one of my favorite parts is the use of Nexo Knight shields during the build process. I won’t get into how – exactly – but instead let you discover it for yourself.

But my favorite are the trans blue 1×2 plates on the bottom which are supposed to resemble the neon lights that the original car has. This Fast and Furious car toy is so much fun to build.

One of the big issues I have with this set are that the Stickers are difficult to place. While I’m against stickers in general on LEGO sets, the Speed Champions Line really needs them. And I’m reluctantly OK with that.

Finally, and I always check on this- is the License plate. Sometimes there are little easter Eggs hidden in the letters and numbers on the tag. But in this case it is an authentic Florida license plate. The letters “T4U 84U” appear on the car in the movie, and they are the same on the LEGO model.

Now you don’t have to make your own Paul Walker car LEGO bricks. You can get a kit and just follow the instructions.

How about the back view of this car – it even has an authentic license plate.

Final Thoughts

This replica Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) from the LEGO® Speed Champions movie, model number 76917, was inspired by that vehicle. Before proudly displaying this automobile toy or reenacting fast-paced street racing scenes, kids aged 9+, automotive fanatics, and fans of the well-known film franchise can enjoy a gratifying build.

Will you be getting the Fast and Furious Paul Walker LEGO speed champions set?

From beginner to advanced, everyone also asks me how do I make my own LEGO instructions – well I’ve made a post all about it.
