Aurora Minifigure Background & Trivia
Disney’s Aurora, also known as Princess Aurora or Sleeping Beauty, is a fictional character who first appeared in the 1959 animated film “Sleeping Beauty.” Here is a short history of the character and three facts about her:
- In the original fairy tale that “Sleeping Beauty” is based on, the character is named Briar Rose. The name Aurora was added for the Disney film and has since become the more popular name for the character.
- Aurora is often associated with the color pink, which is the color of her dress and many of her other merchandise items. However, in the film, her dress is actually blue for most of her on-screen time.
- Aurora is one of the few Disney Princesses who has both parents present and alive in her story. However, her parents are not given much screen time or development in the film, and the focus remains on Aurora’s relationship with Prince Phillip and her battle against Maleficent.
