LEGO Brown Astronaut and Spacebaby Minifigure

This is the LEGO Brown Astronaut and Spacebaby Minifigure from Series 24 of the LEGO CMF line. Set Number 71037.

Did LEGO create a baby Benny Minifigure?  We all know how popular the Baby Yoda Minifigure (Grogu) from the Mandalorian was.  I think they are!  As you know Benny is the loveable character from The LEGO Movie who shouted spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!  That was set 70816 which is now retired, but available on Ebay and other secondary marketplaces.

The larger Minifigure is a brown spaceman.  This is a new color.  And is sure to be highly collectible. There is also a grey walkie-talkie with a new 1×2 tile that is a baby monitor print.

This is the first time ever for a LEGO space baby.  I find it interesting that they chose the blue color for the first space baby.  In the original LEGO space theme which came out in 1979, there were only three colors – red, white, and Yellow.  The blue space minifig didn’t come until later.  1984 and it was the last color space minifig from the original classic space theme.

But with the first brown LEGO astronaut, we are also getting this adorable LEGO baby minifigure.    Keen eyed FOLs will notice that the baby mold is the same as the one from the popular City sets.  There have been a few different baby molds, including the baby Harry Potter, or voldemort (which are really an infant), but  this style is the most common.

I’m really happy to see the blue space baby LEGO packaged with the brown LEGO astronaut.  It’s the perfect combination, and possibly my favorite from this series.
