I spent the last few hours putting the finishing touches on the moat around my Disney Castle, and then carefully moving it from my building area over to it's permanent home.
There were lots of things I used from Google Earth to see how the real Disney Castle is decorated, to the custom brick built wall, to the 1x1 round trans blue water elements, and then of course the flowers and greenery. I worked to make this as modular as possible, and in this case the moat is permanently attached to the castle, and the bridge, which I extended to make it work.
Next, I think I'll work on the plaza in front of the castle - gonna need to stock up on my tile inventory.

81 Drawers - ranging from minifigures, to individual bricks sorted by color, to train parts, LEGO Star Wars, printed tiles, and so much more. On the top (which you can’t quite see) are the parts I still need to break down, disassemble and sort.
By keeping everything organized I 1) stay sane, and 2) can find any piece in a matter of seconds. I know where everything is, and it is easy to find.

The other day I posted a photo of the wall I was making for the moat around my Disney Castle, and I got a ton of people asking me via DM about my technique.

It's really very simple. You only need 2 kinds of pieces 1x1 round studs, and 1x2 plates. I used a variety of colors: light bluish grey, dark gray, and silver. Some of the round 1x1 studs have holes, and some don't. It doesn't really matter. Anyway, I take a big pile of each, mix them all up, and start to build the wall.

Starting on the first layer I put out one round, one rectangle, round rectangle - etc for about 40 or so pieces. Then starting the next row, I skip the first stud, and place a 1x1 round stud, then plate, then stud, then plate - off set by 1. The third course starts the same way - skip a stud, and then round then plate, round, plate. It' really pretty easy - especially if you have the all the parts sorted out like I do.

I spent the better part of the last day working on making a realistic looking flexible wall and a basin to hold the "water" that will be the moat around the LEGO Disney Castle. I wanted to make a self contained area that I could fill with trans blue studs and create a realistic look. I think I accomplished that with this look. I especially like the flexible wall which uses 1x1 round studs, and 1x2 plates in grey, light bluish grey, dark grey and even silver.

The other day I saw a post by @mrbookieboo where he did a few different before and afters of the moat he made around his Lego Disney Castle. I love it so much I decided to use it for inspiration! I wish I could link to his post in this one, but I don't know how to do that (If you do, please let me know). Instead I've tagged him so you can check out his page. It's amazing! I might have to relocate some things and maybe even move the castle back. Let’s see how it goes!

I've been working on a MOC for one of the first buildings on Main Street USA in my LEGO Disneyland. Here's my take on the old Main Street Hotel, the first big building on the right as you come in the park. You can also see the beginnings of the Magic shop with it's colorful sign. Be careful of the cotton candy vendor!

I've always been a numbers guy. Don't know if LEGO started that, or if my love of data drew me to them. Either way, it's served me well in my life.

Yesterday I saw this cool infographic from the LEGO group showing their 2019 numbers -things like growth, revenue, and best selling themes worldwide. They don't have to release these numbers because they are a private company, but I'm glad they do. I like the transparency, and of course I geek out over the data.
Overall they are a very profitable company, and if you read their annual report which came out via a press release you can see they are working very hard to increase sustainability.

I have to wonder, if by releasing these numbers they are headed for a public stock release. I know I'd invest in an LEGO IPO.

As you can see my LEGO Disneyland is a little bit cramped. It looks like I’ll have to be going to get another IKEA table to put behind the castle. That will make it a little bit longer so that there’s room for main street in front of the castle, and room for all the modular buildings I’m creating over the next few weeks.
