Is LEGO making a Neuschwanstein Castle?

Neuschwanstein Castle

I first saw this amazing castle in person on a Rick Steves tour of Germany. It is a very poplar tourist attraction for a number of reasons. The biggest is that it was the inspiration for Walt Disney, as the design for all the Disneyland and Disney world Castles. He did actually visit the castle in 1955, and the towering spires, rounded and pointed arches all provided a fairy-tale inspiration for the Sleping Beauty and Snow White movies.

There have been several LEGO Ideas submissions for the Neuschwanstein Castle, and while at least one has made the threshold to be made into a set, the designers never approved the process.

But now there are rumors of a LEGO Architecture Set designed around the fairytale inspiration coming in August 2025. Earlier this year we got the Trevi Fountain which was a fun set to build and display

The LEGO Neuschwanstein Castle is rumored to be over 3,000 pieces, which makes it a pretty big set, and since there is no expensive licensing tied to it, I or fancy pieces or even minifigures, I think the price per piece will be low at $0.06-0.08. That would put the cost in the $180-240 US range.

What do you think about this set? Let me know in the comments! Is Mad King Ludwig finally getting a LEGO set of his castle?
