2019 LEGO 60219 City Construction Loader

LEGO 60219 City Construction Loader

I don’t know about you, but when I only have ten dollars to spend on LEGO, I usually reach for a construction set. The 2019 LEGO City Construction Loader has all the things needed to keep me (or a kid) entertained for hours.

Lego 60219 Construction Loader is a new 2019 set that was released in January of 2019. It has 88 pieces and is labeled for ages 5 and up.

LEGO 60219 Pieces & Minifigure

There are 88 pieces in this set, including 1 minifigure, a front end loader, and a small construction scene. There is also a little LEGO jackhammer the minifig can hold.

There are 2 bags in this set, plus an instruction manual that when dumped out and put together make the front end loader, the Minifigure, and the little scene.

LEGO 60219 Review

This year, LEGO has quite a few affordable little sets in the City theme, and this Construction loader is my favorite. Mostly because I prefer construction and building sets to Police, or fire, or boat or airplane themes.

As with most sets, the first thing that gets built is the Minifigure. Complee with Blue pants, a safety orange vest over a brown work shirt and a helmet with molded ear protection. There is a grey LEGO jack-hammer that fits perfectly in the claw hands.

Next you build the Digger. It’s a fun build that goes together easily and simply, and has a few techinc pieces that make the bucket in the front go up and down.

Finally, you put together the little fence scene with 4 grey 1×2 bricks that resemble concrete blocks. Stack them together, let the worker break them apart and then scoop them up and start all over again.

All in all these are great little sets. They are affordable at under $10, and very collectible. Even though you don’t get a lot of minifigures for the price, you do get a little set that is very play-able

One of my other favorite minifigures by the way is from CMF -21 the Airplane Girl.

2019 LEGO 41355 Emma’s Heart Box

LEGO 41355 Friends Jasmine's Petite Tower

Emma is the artistic one of the LEGO friends. Each of the 5 main characters has different traits, and this LEGO Friends set contains items that suit Emma.

Lego 41356 Emma’s Heart Box is a new 2019 set that was released in January of 2019. It has 85 pieces and is labeled for ages 6 and up.

LEGO 41355 Pieces & Minidoll

There are 85 pieces in this set, including 1 minidoll, the Emma friends Minidoll. She is part of a series of 5 similar Heart boxes, one for each character in the Friends Lego series: Mia, Stephanie, Emma, Andrea, and of course Olivia.

This set also comes with a heart shaped box that is made out of bricks in Emma’s favorite color – Purple. There is a special 2×4 printed tile with Emma’s name on it, a LEGO marker that the minidoll can hold in her hand, a 2×2 printed tile of a cat, a black LEGO camera, a pair of scissors, and a mini cupcake, too!

LEGO 41355 Review

This is one in a series of 5. Each LEGO friends character Mia, Stephanie, Emma, Andrea, and of course Olivia comes with their own little brick built box. The box has a removable lid that can be a sage or a platform for her to stand on, plus more. Including some little flowers and a 2×4 LEGO tile with the name Stephanie printed on it.

The lid fits perfectly on the box, and each box for each character is stackable, making you want to collect them all.

Inside the box, is Emma, with a bunch of accessories including a pen, a picture on a printed 2×2 tile of a cat, a camera, and a pair of LEGO scissors.

All in all these are great little sets. They are affordable at under $10, and very collectable. Even though you don’t get a lot of minifigures or minidolls for the price, you do get a lot of accessories that are related to the series.

Putting together a minidoll is very easy – it’s just like a minifigure. Connect the body part to the legs part. Put on the head. Add hair. The minidolls don’t have 2 faces as their heads are shaped differently, and are not compatable with regular minifigures. In fact, no part of a minidoll can connect to a minifig. They are completely different. But for me, they work quite nicely in my LEGO city, as they do resemble Disney Princesses. They are like minifigs in costume if you ask me.

LEGO 75223 Naboo Starfighter Microfighter

LEGO 75223 Naboo Starfigher Microfighter 485

Can you believe this is part of the 6th series of microfighters?  Of course it is the first I’m building on this channel.  I love these sets for their swoosh-ability.  This starwars Microfighter comes with a Kid Anakin, a R2-D2 dome top and a couple of flick missles for some cool combat.

Lego 70841 Benny’s Space Squad

Four space minifigs for ten bucks?  Yes Please!  Especially when one is Benny from the LEGO Movie 2.  You know the one, the over-enthusiastic spaceman who just wants to build a Spaceship!  But in this set you get him, and 3 of his friends in alternatively colored suits.  Plus a little bit more in this Lego 70841 Benny’s Space Squad.

Lego 70841 Benny’s Space Squad is a new 2019 set that was released in December of 2018.  It has 68 pieces and is labeled for ages 5 and up.

LEGO 70824 Pieces & Minifigures

There are 68  pieces in this set, including 4 minifigures.  Not only do you get the Blue space Man Benny, but also the Yellow Space Man Kenny, the Pink Spaceman Lenny, and the White spaceman (woman) Jenny.    Plus there are enough other pieces to make a little robot, a car, and a SPACESHIP!

By the way have you seen the the LEGO Brown Astronaut and Spacebaby Minifigure, as part of the CMF 23 series. Have you tried collecting all the different space minifigure colors?

In this set there are 2 numbered bags, and one instruction book

LEGO 70824 Review

I’d definitely categorize this as an Easy build.  There are only 2 small bags and no complicated pieces or connections.  What is so awesome is that you get 4 LEGO minifigures.  That’s a lot.  Normally you get 1 or 2 in a set this price, and never anyone as popular as Benny.  It would be like getting a Ninjago Set with Cole, Lloyd, Zane and Kai or a Friends Set with Stephanie, Mia, Andrea, Emma or Olivia.

Additionally, each Minifig comes with a handheld accessory – a scanner, laser gun, walkie-talkie or wrench.  Plus there is a  little brick built robot, a car and a mini spaceship with a printed tile!

The Robot is less than 10 pieces, and uses some pretty tiny elements. It’s not the most sturdy build but sometimes you sacrifice stability for play-ability.

The car, is based in the classic space theme. It uses the grey bricks, has little off-road tires, and has a couple of clips in the back to hold the tools. There is room for 1 minifigure as the driver. If I were to improve on the build of this car, I would have incorporated a little box in the back that opens up.

The spaceship is also based on the classic space theme with blue and grey elements. There’s room for 1 minifigure to fly it. What I like best is the printed slope tile with the classic LEGO space logo on it.

LEGO 70824 Release Date

This set was released on new Year’s day 2019. Initially I went to my local LEGO store to buy it, but by mid morning it had sold out. My Target stores didn’t have any on the shelves either. So I looked at Amazon, and they too were sold out! I decided to order it from Target with my RED card so I’d get the 5% discount. I got the sets on Jan 6th.

2019 Lego Friends 41360 Emma’s Mobile Veterinary Clinic

LEGO 41360 Emma's Mobile Vet Clinic 436 - Version 2

What a wonderful starter Friends LEGO set!  Emma is one of the LEGO Friends characters and she loves pets!  In this set, she takes care of a little LEGO dog, using her mobile Vet Clinic.  The car is super easy to build as the base is pre-molded and designed for first time  and younger builders.

Lego 41360 Friends Emma’s Mobile Veterinary Clinic is a new 2019 set that was released in January of 2019.  It has 50 pieces and is labeled for ages 4 and up.

LEGO 41360 Pieces & Minidoll

There are 50  pieces in this set, including 1 minidoll (Emma from the LEGO Friends Series), and a little LEGO dog that looks like a PUG.  What is amazing about the sets in this series is they usually come with a lot of accessories, and this set is no different.  You get a brush, syringe, dog bone, plate and a feeding bottle, all of which can fit in the hand of the minidoll minifigure.

In this set there are 2 numbered bags, one car chassis and one instruction book. There are no stickers, and a printed x-ray piece (which I love).

LEGO 41360 Review

This is a great starter set.  Designed for ages 4+ it is an easy build and a great way to introduce kids to the LEGO world.

First you assemble the Emma minidoll together, which snaps together quite easily.  Then you start to build the car which also is quite easy to build as it is built on a purple chasis.  What is cool about this build is that the car has a place for the Minidoll to sit, as well as for the LEGO PUG dog, and the front of the car actually looks like a dog.

The last part of the build is the little clinic which is only a few pieces.  One of which is a printed tile that has an x-ray of the dog.  It’s a pretty cool little set-up.

2019 Lego Minecraft 21148 Minecraft Steve with Parrot

Is it just me, or is Minecraft everywhere? LEGO has gone in a coupe of directions with their Minecraft sets, and this Steve with Parrot Big fig is a bit different than the traditional set.

The Minecraft Lego 21148 Steve with Parrot is a new 2019 set that was released in January of 2019.  It has 159 pieces and is labeled for ages 7 and up.

LEGO 21148 Pieces

There are 159  pieces in this set. No minifigures, and the most unique piece is the large brown pick-axe. Other than that, the majority of this set can be built with parts and elements from a typical LEGO collection.

In this set there are 2 numbered bags, and one instruction book. There are no stickers, and several pieces are printed (which I love).

LEGO 21148 Review

LEGO Minecraft Pick-axe

If you are looking for an easy beginner set, one where your child can do it alone, or with minimal help from an adult, this is a GREAT starting place.  It says it is for ages 7 and up, but aside from some of the smaller parts I don’t see how a younger person wouldn’t be able to build this set.

First the Steve Big Fig is built, torso, legs, arms then head. Then the rest of the pieces are used to build the brick built parrot.

Steve has moving arms and legs and head. There’s a little lever in the back which allows for him to raise and lower his arm, for a more realistic pick-axe motion.

The parrot has moving wings, base and head, plus a cute tail feather.

2019 Lego 60206 Sky Police Jet Patrol

If you are looking for an easy to build, beginner LEGO airplane set for your kiddo, the Sky Police Jet Patrol is a fantastic starter into the world of LEGO, or as a gift for a 4 year old.

Lego 60206 Sky Police Jet Patrol is a new 2019 set that was released in January of 2019.  It has 54 pieces and is labeled for ages 4 and up.

LEGO 60206 Pieces & Minifigures

There are 54  pieces in this set, including 2 minifigures (Sky Police pilot and a crook).  The airplane is built using a large blue airframe element so it goes together very quickly. It’s the same one that’s in this LEGO Spider man set.

In this set there are 2 numbered bags, and one instruction book. There are no stickers, and several pieces are printed (which I love).

LEGO Printed Panel

One of the printed pieces I really like is the control panel in the Jet. So much different than the LEGO bricks I grew up with.

LEGO 60206 Review

If you are looking for an easy beginner set, one where your child can do it alone, or with minimal help from an adult, this is a GREAT starting place. The Airplane is built on a single chassis, and the other pieces snap easily onto it.

There are some tiny pieces to this set, like the crowbar, or the handcuffs, but for me the most difficult piece is the clear blue (LEGO folks call it Trans-blue) face shield on the Pilot’s helmet. It is challenging to put on, and easily snaps off and gets lost. Some sets include 2 of these, but my set didn’t come with any extras.

The minifigures also connect easily together. They come as 4 pieces, and are partially assembled. The bottom leg half snaps into the top torso piece. Then the head goes on, then the hat (or hair). They can easily be disassembled and the pieces are interchangeable. Also, the legs are pre-assembled, as is the torso. What I mean is that the hands are already in the arms, which are already in the torso. But if you want to take these apart, you can if you want to.

LEGO crook using a crowbar to break inside a safe.

This is a great starter set, or as a birthday present for a 4-5 year old who loves airplanes.  Designed for ages 4+ it is an easy build and a great way to introduce kids to the LEGO world.
