One of my favorite LEGO pieces for making trees - this piece is a one stud rounded plate with a bar on it.  It can be swiveled on a regular LEGO piece, and then the clip is minifigure hand sized so that just about anything can clip on to it.  It allows for all kinds of weird angles which simulates branches on a tree really well
